Dr. Wendy Coughlin is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Guardian ad Litem, Qualified Parenting Coordinator (6th, 12th, and 13th Circuits), Certified Family Mediator, Master Addiction Counselor, and Certified in Neurofeedback. She practices virtually, at remote locations and at her office in Pinellas County Florida. Dr. Coughlin has been qualified as an expert witness in multiple specialties. She performs mental health and substance use disorder evaluations for the Courts.

When choosing a mental health professional, it is wise to look beyond the educational credentials and license to the philosophies, interests, and style of the service provider.

Dr. Coughlin has been described as the eternal optimist. She believes all people can benefit from professional intervention and anyone sincerely willing to change, can change for the better. After decades of helping others, Dr. C has many tools and techniques to help. She is an engaged, interactive psychotherapist when working with families, couples, and individuals wishing to improve their lives and relationships. A major focus of this practice involves service to separating and separated families. As an expert in coparenting and child development, Dr. Coughlin can help establish parenting plans, resolve conflicts, evaluate parental competence, assess substance use, treat trauma-related issues, and intervene in parent/child contact problems.

FROM DR. C:

Hi! I am glad you are taking the time to check me out – you should! Whether self-referred or court ordered, I would like to share a few things about my practice with you.

As a “seasoned” mental health counselor (this means I’m over 65), there are few problems I haven’t encountered. When working with others, I get engaged! I will offer solutions! I will collaborate with you. I may ask you to bring your family in. I will gladly coordinate care with other professionals. My goal is to help my clients improve their satisfaction with their lives and their family relationships.

Over the years, I have established expertise in substance use disorders, family court matters, parent/child contact problems, co- parenting, post-traumatic stress, , and neurofeedback.

  • If you or a loved one suffers from a substance use disorder, call me—I get it!
  • Separation and/or divorce issues—call me.
  • Need a mental health expert for a family court matter – I am here for you.
  • Interested in using biofeedback or photobiomodulation – we have it available.

If you think I can help, please call the office to schedule an appointment. If you are not sure, please schedule a 15 minute phone consult to ask any questions you may have about my practice.

I look forward to meeting you!

Dr. C
